Fees for Copywriter Services

Copywriter fees

Unlike a lot of copywriters, I prefer to provide a quote on a complete project basis. I find that this is better for all involved - you know what the total price is going to be from the start and so there are no suspicions about work taking longer to bump up the fee. Of course, working this way means I quite often end up under-estimating the amount of time it takes to produce your copywriting, but that's my problem. I don't think it is right that you should have to pay for those moments where I'm suffering writer's block!

But one thing you should bear in mind is that when you hire me, you're getting my services for the entire duration of your project. Even though I may not be working on your copy every hour of the day, you can be sure that I'm always thinking about it and taking notes whenever something springs to mind.

Anyway, on to my prices for copywriter services.

Usually, my prices work out at around £50-£100 per page, depending on the amount of content and the complexity of the subject matter. For example, on web sites, a homepage containing around 500 words can be £50 whereas a simple contact page will be much less due to the amount of work involved.

Recently, I've been asked to provide hourly rates and day rates. So for those of you that insist on working this way, here are my fees:

  • Hourly rate: £40-£60 depending on complexity of project and potential for repeat work.
  • Day rate: £200 (based on 8 hours)

For those of you who are more interested in a price for a particular type of copywriting project, here are some rough guidelines:

  • 5 page web site: £150-£250
  • Bi-fold leaflet: £80-£200
  • 4 page brochure:  £120-£250
  • 1 page advertisement: £30-80
  • 1 page sales letter: £40-£120

I think you will find that I am competetively priced. And don't forget, I'm a stickler for deadlines and making sure my customers are completely satisfied, so you really do get more than just copy - you get a copywriter service you can rely on.

Fees for Technical Author Services

Technical author work is generally more complicated than copywriting and requires more research. This means it can take significantly longer to produce effective copy. Due to the nature of technical documentation projects, my fees for technical author services are slightly higher than those for copywriting:

  • Hourly rate: £60-£150
  • Day Rate: £300
  • Page rate: £70

Special Offers for Copywriting Projects

To make sure I have a constant flow of work, I frequently offer reduced prices during quieter periods. Regular customers have benefitted from rates as low as 50% of my usual price, so there really is value in returning to StrayGoat Copywriting.

So whether you are pleasantly surprised by my low copywriting fees or slightly worried that  your budget won't stretch as far as you'd hoped, please get in touch and I'll see what I can do. You never know, if it is a project that is close to my heart or of particular interest, I might just do it for a pittance! Trust me, it wouldn't be the first time.
